We were rubbish against a poor City

I realize that no one likes to lose. I get that we all put a lot of passion and emotion into our team. And I hate to #### on other QPR supporters...

But to react like this to THIS match? Did anyone expect anything different? Did I miss where all the bookies were predicting a QPR triumph?

A 3-1 defeat at Etihad where ManCity hasn't lost in years, with a team cobbled together with several of our newest/best players missing, with a team that has had no time to practice or develop any chemistry, where pundits were predicting we'd get embarrassed? THIS is the trigger to begin wailing and gnashing our teeth?

No one is happy with where the team is right now. It will take time, but compared to where we were one year ago, we have real reasons to be optimistic.

SPOILER WARNING FOR THOSE WHO ARE ANGRY AFTER TODAY : this month will be tough. After our signings, we have a bullseye on our chest. We have three more difficult EPL matches. We're trying to integrate several new players. Don't be surprised if we're at the bottom of the table at the end of this month. END SPOILERS.

What I'm saying is - there are 35 matches left in the season. Save your strength and spread the panic over the next few months.

Just for those who don't get it, the reaction is not from one result. In case you hadn't noticed, this type of performance is characteristic of Rangers away under Hughes going back to when he got the job. A lot of it is down to the way he sets up the side.

Its a shockingly poor record that bears comparison with some of our most incompetent managers. Evident tactical naievety and transfer dealings that raise as many questions as they solve. Never mind being bitch slapped at home. That's what's pissing me off. The players don't pick themselves, and the defensive frailties were obvious at the close of last season.

Exactly. City are a very good side but they are playing poorly and not like Champions, and Saints and Liverpool gave them a much sterner test than we did. So how people can come on here and say it was a good performance is quite beyond me. It was average at best, and poor from a realistic point of view. Cisse should have started as he is mobile, Hoilett should have started as he gives the team an outlet unlike SWP, and Faurlin should not have started as he is not match fit. Derry would have been much better suited in that midfield.

Exactly, I wouldn't be upset if we lost 6-1 if we actually looked good and played with composure, moved the ball around, and just got unlucky with some of the goals. It is the nature of the performance and horrible tactical decisions that bothers me.

Yes. the 2nd half of last season proved that Derry is not a premiership standard midfielder. Don't get me wrong, he was pivotal in our promotion but in my view should not start for us again.

hardly unsung and its only been 2 seasons, one in the championship. He was excellent in the championship. In the premiership?
