Hughes on Green

Interesting that he talks about values and standards in a player. Hughes is obviously very keen that players are of a certain attitude and behaviour as well as good on the pitch. May be from his days under Fergy. I think that is a very good sign.

Agree, and hope Green buys into this ethic and can be persuaded to stay and fight for his place.Originally posted by silvercue View PostInteresting that he talks about values and standards in a player. I think if he really doesn't get matches he will want to move on - he will feel he is a no 1 for a prem club somewhere. It's a real tough one for goalies being no2, much worse than an outfield player sitting on the bench.Originally posted by Stanley76 View PostAgree, and hope Green buys into this ethic and can be persuaded to stay and fight for his place.

Ideally yes but v difficult for a keeper. Any outfield player these days understands there is going to be a certain amount of squad rotation. But change your keeper (as Fergie did last season) and it is always taken as a massive vote of no confidence in the one who is dropped.
