We need a cb so Hughes got him its simple lol
Hughes got him primarily as a CB as that position was a priority, but he also got him because he is versatile (a quality MH likes in a player) and can play as a DM.
This is truly ridiculous, nether M'bia or Granero were bought because of Sambas personal issues. Then people are guessing saying he has depression??? How on earth would you know that. One of his family members could have passed, I have no doubt that his absence towards the end of last has nothing to do with this. People now saying they doubt of he will ever play again for us. Jesus.
Not sure about Diakite, but if you recall it was a long time before his permanent transfer was confirmed, when from what we understood it was automatic. Also he only played nine games last season when he was supposed to play 10 in order for the transfer to take place. This was strange in itself as it would have been easy for him to play 10 games by just being brought on as sub in one game. I think there might have already been some issues. We do not know how much the club paid for him (undisclosed) so it is possible he fee was renegotiated. People are suspicious because 1) he suddenly got a virus at the end of the season which was never explained and 2) he now has "personal problems". It would also appear that nobody else has been made aware of these problems since he has been named in the Mali squad for next week. It will be interesting to see if he plays, or if not what excuse they give.
He wants to shape up we've just paid £3.5 million for him personal problems or not
not sure if this was deliberately flippant but with rumours going around that he might be suffering from depression i think this is a bit insensitive.
he needs support if it is the case, regardless how much he cost. hopefully the gary speed situation might have brought to light how serious and dangerous mental illness can be.
