Just unbelievable. Mackie was awful today, he has no football brain at all. He was even running from space into congested areas. Running around a lot is not enough. He should only be used as sub against tired defences. And missing when it was easier to score just typified his contribution. Time to take off the rose tinted glasses and see him for the limited player he is.

Don't get me wrong - he didn't have a 'good' game, but not sure why the OP has singled him out when there were some absolutely abysmal performances elsewhere on the pitch.

I singled him out because have said this time and time again. He just does not have the ability at this level to start games. Am tired of watching him lose it by running into someone or running it out of play.Everyone who sits around me agrees. We cannot see what he brings. Look how Hoilett links well with Park/Tarbs and is involved a lot....not to mention he looks dangerous by beating players. Mackie does none of this and offers no service. So why start him on the right wing when he looks lost and out of position at times. Those who actually go to the game can see this.

Bring him on up front by all means but he should not be starting games.

This is why he should not start games. He was to put it kindly............Useless. Not the only one granted but question marks always exist with him in the starting line up. As Paul Merson just said "For all the good and quality players they have, they have players in the team that are nowhere near good enough to play in the Premiership every week" You Mr Mackie are one of them.

He offers nothing and looks lost. Then when he gets it is the same story of running into a blind alley/defender and losing it. He does not look dangerous or potent at all. Depsite his miss which i put down to a good save he can offer effort/goals from the bench. But that is his level and i hope Hughes can see this soon.

Is he fuuck useless, Jamie was quality last season. It's the first game, give him a break

Mackie POOR POOR misssed the easiest chance of he game to put us level. Very worried about out midfield OH and by the way for all the Taarabt lovers of which I'm one he was SHITE today.

Absolutely priceless that you both think Tarrabt and Onhura were our 4th and 5th best players. Both woefull, Tarrabt in particular who must have given the ball away 20+ times, not to mention failing to gt th ball past the first defender on almost very set piece.

Exactly, Mackie was one of our better players today! Although who knows what would have happened if he scored that 1 on 1...

I will say this if he's playing on the wing then he needs to stay on the wing! In the first half he was constantly drifiting in the middle leaving no-one out wide and dragging defenders into the middle of the park which just made everything more congested!
