That's what people said last season - as 17 quite rightly says, he smashed it up last season in France and to say he is past his best is a bit of a myth. Lille actually played him in the right role (a bit like Hodgson did at Liverpool - one of the few things he did right there) and played to his strengths whereas Dalglish has/had all the technical nous of a dead mosquito.
