There was another tennis tournement directly after the Olympics in Toronto, both Andy Murray and Roger Federer were due to compete. Andy Murray completed two rounds and then withdrew because of an injured knee and Roger Federer withdrew just before the tournement. The US Open begins at the end of August (August 27 I believe) and they need to prepare as the surface at Flushing Meadow is completely different from Wimbledon.

The footballers have all probably gone back to their clubs since the season begins next week.

So the answer is yes then!

Watching the closing ceremony and noticed that there doesn't seem to be any of the tennis players or footballers amongst the gathering athletes......

Have I just missed them or do they treat the Olympics like a normal event then f*** off back to their mansions once they've won a bit of gold for themselves?......
