What makes me laugh is some Chelsea fans are trying to make it he was joking and simply mugging off the judge.

It could have been, but it looks like it has failed miserably, which is such a shame.

A mate pointed out that it might have actually been a ploy by Terry's lawyer to make him look like a simpleton. After all, isn't the thrust of their argument that Terry was basically saying to Anton "No, I never called you a black ****!" (which is ridiculous.)

It's the equivalent of his lawyer saying "Look your honour. My client is so thick he simply repeats whatever is said to him."
