    Stadium naming rights

Todays Times.Sorry can't do links but gist is:
It has long been a question for those who have watched huge sums being poured into Premier League, where is Qatar Airways?Qatar's carrier is smaller than Emirates,of Dubai, but
larger than Etihad,of Abu Dhabi.Until now. They have been approached by two Premiership clubs.Owner Akbar al-Baker,although not ready yet, insisted any deal would only be signed
if they had full naming rights. It would need to be a new stadium. That would seem to put West Ham in pole position as it continues to lobby for Olympic Park. However Liverpool and QPR,
owned by Mr al-Baker's friend Mr Fernandes, are also in contention.

West Ham should not be able to sell naming rights to a stadium paid for by the public tax for the olympics. If they get a free stadium, they shoul dbe made to retain it's name as the Olympic stadium... If they can sell naming rights and make additional revenue from a stadium they didn't pay for in the first place it is a disgrace.

Doesn't Qatar kill thousands of smokers every year?

Surely any rival airline form Asia naming our stadium would be business suicide for TF, given his own airline would possibly be hit as a result.... Or are they completely different markets, easyjet compared to BA for example??? I don't fly enough to know.

Different markets I suspect, with the new fair play rule, incoming revenue determing how much you can spend.
