first thing we dont need 40.000 seats? 30.000 will be enough but with forsight they could make sure that the capacity could be increased, we're having trouble selling 18.000 at the moment. too big a stadium will be like playing in a morgue like some other new ground i.e. Coventry etc. Also wasn't the scrubs burial site for those that died during the plague might be some resrictions on that land.

As for soothing words about how our rich owners will shoulder the burden.... you don't get to be a millionaire by exposing your core business to debt, and there is a risk of exposure. Football is far from TFs core business.
I'd want to see how the deal was structured. Everyone is going on about TF but for my money none of this would be possible without Mittal investment.

Unigate or Aunty for my money with a 50p saver on Old Oak Common, the railtrack still own huge chunks of derelict land over there (far side of scrubs).

With regards to how the deal is being done, I suspect Lakshmi Mittal is putting up a fair bit of the money, but we won't know until the funding has been announced. We've got an asset for sale in LR, plus naming rights, and if it's going to be built incorporating other activities then there could be shared costs.
We will have to wait till the whole deal is announced, but for me I'm looking forward to a new stadium.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

The 3pm press conference & global branding could be news of signing Park ?Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Only thing that's sad is i'm wishing my weekend away now just to see what's what on Monday!Last edited by qpr; 06-07-2012, 11:10 PM.Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes

For all those "WE CAN'T SELL 18,000", season tickets are already limited from renewals, when they go on sale to members on the 9th I think we might be talking differently here. TF must have had positive interest on ST's for these plans to suddenly come into light, agree?QPR, remember that name, you'll be cursing it later

I have a feeling at least one of the three proposed sites is outside H & F, I wouldn't be surprised if 2 of the proposed sites are outside.
One point getting the physical site but another is how to fill. Our owners must have noted that last season after 15 years in the wilderness and for once having great owners, that fans weren't flooding in, s/t sales werent great and apart from say Man Utd, tickets were available easily to all games, so if you can't sell out 18k following the euphoria of promotion and the maylasian spring, how are we going to sell out regularly 30k. Someone is going to have to fund it and a large proportion will be the fans.
I don't accept fans will simply come and fill the ground because it has a cinema and a hotel attached, and the reason they don't currently come is because of poor facilities. QPR fans are brought up on cramped, poor conditions with poor viewing that why we all have dodgy necks and scrapped knees. I don't know one QPR fan that doesnt go to a game because of conditions of the ground. I know many who don't go because of commitments and cost but those won't change with a new stadium. Prices will be the same or more with a new ground just ask any gooner or bluebird(with a tinge of red).
I therefore believe a new stadium is not going to be filled with existing fans suddenly turning up, we as a club will only achieve increase attendances by finding a new hinterland IMHO.
It's only a guess but I think one of the sites will be in Ealing, the community trust do a lot of work in that borough schooling wise, it's a borough without an existing rival football club, I think the new training ground falls under Ealing, not really influenced by Chelsea or Ealing, lots of young couples with money, loads of schools, land probably cheaper than h & f, local council probably be more favourable by having both ground and training facilities together, policing be easier as no longer have 3 premiership teams in one borough.
I don't know but I would be surprised if Tony and Amit haven't had a good look at Ealing as a potential ground when they were visiting warren farm. Tony has said west London and Ealing has a W postcode.Last edited by TBLOCKRANGER; 07-07-2012, 02:14 PM.

When Southampton were at The Dell they had a capacity of 15,000 and not always sold it when they moved it to St Marys they got a capacity of 32,000 and sold out each game. Peole like new grounds and the good thing with this is we will go into a new stadium in 3 years time with the best side we have ever had.
