Bit more than just opinion mate. Several off the record sources have been quoted in the press saying Hughes wants shot including in papers that have been spot on about predicting the players we wd sign. And regardless of what you, me or any other fan might want, he is the only one that matters in this.

Agreed.Originally posted by Yousef View PostAdam yes, Downing no thanks.
Downing is awful. Id genuinally rather have Mackie. Downing may be a more "fashionable" and household name but last season he didnt have a single goal or assist, playing against the exact opposition Mackie scored 7 against. No ta.
Adam is a good player tbf, nothing amazing and I have to admit at Blackpool I thought he was abit overrated, but certainly wouldnt turn my nose up at him. As a previous poster has said though, looking at the transfer fee paid fr them both just a year ago, highly doubt there's any truth in this anyway. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

To be fair to Downing he created hatfuls of chances with some brilliant crosses, it's just the Liverpool strikers were shockingly poor at finishing last season and wasted the majority of chances they had all season. some games they should've scored 10 and ended 0-0 or 0-1. But for that, Downing may have had plenty of assists.Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostAgreed.

That said, they signed him for £20m last year, he aint going anywhere. To do so, would mean they'd be admitting they don't want him and sell for a big loss. no point.
Adam is a very decent player imo, and i thinnk they blagged for only about £6m in the end so was a good price. If Brendon didn't fancy him, there could be a chance and i would be very happy with him.
Can't see either leaving Liverpool though.
