Saw one of the rumour sites saying that yesterday or the day before and that insider guy in another thread has said we're looking into it, he did well under Hughes so you never know! not a big fan myself, always thought the media overrated him, but didnt think he was that bad of a player thoughComment

Same as you mate.Saw one of the rumour sites saying that yesterday or the day before and that insider guy in another thread has said we're looking into it, he did well under Hughes so you never know! not a big fan myself, always thought the media overrated him, but didnt think he was that bad of a player though
Thought he had 2 good seasons at Blackburn and other than that he's never done much, also coming off a very long lay off following a serious knee injury. I suppose the plus is he played his best football under Hughes at Blackburn so maybe Sparky knows how to get the best out of him, on a free with something to prove I suppose you never know!Comment

Yeah exactly, season long loan with a fee agreed for the end of it if plays well enough may spark enough interest and desire out of Bentley that he might turn his career around!!Same as you mate.

Oh right, he's still under contract at Spurs then? For some reason I thought he was available on a free. Spurs would be a bit cheeky demanding a fee I reckon mate, he's hardly kicked a ball in the Prem for 2 years and can only have 1 year left on his contract. Surely they would just be glad to get him off the wage bill?!!!Comment

odd one. we already have swp and mackie and even dyer if you can count him without laughing for that spot. if none are deemed good enough then fair enough but not sure yet another incomplete/ often injured right sided midfielder adds much.Comment

I have to say this rumour does not inspire me - in my view he's a player who is well past his sell by date with a very bad attitude. However, he did produce his best football under Hughes' management and perhaps MH feels that it's worth a gamble.Comment
