  • Beckham not picked for Olympics.

    Another balls up.

Even if he isn't in his prime, he would have sold tickets. The football is apparently the only Olympic sport where they have tickets left over.

Feel abit for the man tbh after the amount he put into our winning bid. Admittedly, not the greatest player these days, but the Olympics is hardly the pinnacle of world football quality is it. Should certainly have been in the squad IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

This is fantastic news....... Stuart Pearce is obviously looking for gold and hasn't bowed to pressure to include an over rated show pony 'playing' in a p*** poor league......

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

Good article in the paper this morning comparing Beckham to the British rowing team, and the sacrifices they've had to make to get to the Olympics.

I feel he could have played 20 minutes each game, and it would have been a good way for him to say "Good Bye", after winning Gold.

We need to stop treating the Olympics football tournament as a gimmick and try to use it to benefit the national game.

It's a one off for GB, fine, but given it will predominantly be young as yet not top players, it could prove to be an opportunity for some to get invaluable experience of tournament football, which could serve them well if they play in future tournaments, most likely for England.

Most of the players' won't be competing. Premier sides are not obliged to release players and most of them are on pre-season trips so won't release players.

Our new signing Ryan Nelson is looking forward to playing for New Zealand.

Quite, feels like a big "thanks for the massive PR help you've given us to get the games Dave. Now f*** off"

Regardless of your views on his abilities, he deserved a place in the squad, he'd earned it tbf.

He deserves a place for two reasons IMHO. The first, he is a useful player to have in the squad as he can still play a bit, and always gives 100%. The second, after all the work he put in to help get the games, it would have been a nice thank you for him.

This is hardly the world cup and I think he could still do a job.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Let's include Tony Blair and Seb Coe as well then.
