    So far

So far Hughes have spent £4m and some signing on fees.

How much do we reckon he have left to spend?

Spent more than that my friend, free is not a word associated with football, nothing is free in football not even free transfers.

Spent €3.2 on transfers,3 free transfers( lets not get technical over wages ect),so to answer your question I would think maybe €7-€10 million still in the kitty for him on transfer fees

I'm not sure there's a budget as such. When asked on Player the other day TF said that whilst we're no Man City, Hughes will be given as much support as is realistically possible.

What else do we need?...a CB and LB and that's it I guess.

Still think we need a creative MF, a decent left winger and another striker. After Cisse the quality drops away dramatically.

Yeah you did, but i meant its more than 4m with those fees, more like 8m with signing on fees and agent fees paid.

Surely the wage bill comes into MH's spending budget and our new goal keeper's is a fair way above the minimum wage.

I think an initial budget must have been given by Fernandes but as you're saying Stanley, can be more or less wheter Hughes wants to improve or if he's happy with the squad.

I don't think we will spend much & I can't blame the board.

We would like top 10 (though for me i'd be more than happy with 16th as it's an improvment on last season) & these signings added with a left back & maybe a centre back we are more then able to get top ten
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

We need a consistent CB. I am still not convinced with Fedinand unless he improves. Regarding left winger, I still do not understand why Traore is not used there. He is fast and makes good attacking moves on the left unlike his poor defending. Two great assists: Helguson v Stoke and Mackie v Man City. How about a right FB? Do you think can defend?

regardless of spend i think that a lot of next season will hinge on how shrewdly hughesy shuffles his pack of players. as we saw during our season-end run in, he can make some canny decisions and to be honest once this coming season starts i am not expecting the flaccid, white-flag-waving kind of performances that we saw all too often in the first two thirds of last season.

you can argue that we need a couple of more key positions credibly filled (and i'd agree) however even at this point in time, and with a stable pre-season, we will give a number of sides a good run for their money this time around, and i would include the newly promoted sides, swans, norwich (where we surely have to stop this bogey team rot with them now) and those mid-table mediocre types like foolham, villa, sunderland, west brom etc. into that. i also think our confidence will be buoyed by what happened towards the end of last season and that will also contribute positively.
                              come on you r's!
