    I personally don't feel they are stupid. Just like pre-season the international teams need to stat gelling etc again after the time out. Remember not all members of the team are in the same team in other competitions.

        I have always thought friendlies are a nuisance, but unfortunately a necessary one if we want a successful International side. The problem nowadays is that most of the 1st choice players, cry off with minor injuries and make them seem pointless.

        On the plus side, I agree that anything that keeps Helguson out of the starting line-up is good by me.

        Who knows he might score for Iceland and gain some confidence, if he does, than these friendlies could prove valuable to QPR too.
