Been surfing their forums. Some people think he may well join us as he would be a guarantee starter and also could propel his career to move to a bigger club and improve his profile.

But he has said he wants to play cl football but you never know.

A point to add to this.

He chicken out of taking a penalty (which the other guy missed) in the last minutes of a game recently and caused a bit of unrest within the squad which almost threatened the title.

        Rmc radio station announced it

Selon nos informations, les Queens Park Rangers, Malaga et l’Atlético Madrid ont fait une offre concrète à l’entourage

        Offer has been put in.

Not quite sure but there seems to be a 16million Euro release clause.

Guys - we have Cisse - is there any chance Hughes could use his connection with the French striker to get Giroud?????

Not sure as most of the goals are due to poor defending!

It does not matter how poor the defending is, you still have to put the ball in the net, the same nonsense was spouted about the guy from Glasglow who's name I can't spell

Perhaps because they dont know which foot and way he is going. When is the last time you saw such a two footed footballer. It is his left (I think) but hard to tell when he is scoring at will with both and not just tap ins.

He would be a brilliant buy......though I'll only get excited when he walks through the door at loftus road..

I've seen him play a few times in France and even though he scores a few screamers he's more of the 'poacher' type.....always seems to be first to the loose ball in the 6 yard box.

Why should Giroud even consider a move to us before the Barton situation is sorted? My opinon of course, but anyway.

Why would Girioud give a toss about Barton? Pay him enough and he will sign, money talks.

I don't see why this is unrealistic. Mark & Rigg have a proven record of signing good players & we were after a real striker in January in Defoe etc. We got Cisse who is brilliant but Girioud would be amazing.

                        Dare to dream
                        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

                          im

we have limited re sources if we buy this striker for about twelve million pounds we wont be able to get the dominating ceter half we need or a goalkeeper

and these players are more important we have enough strikers at loftus road

If we have triggered the release clause, I can only imagine that this is an attempt to prove that we mean business. We will never sign Olivier Giroud (and I'm sure Hughes knows this), but this will draw in bids from elsewhere and he'll go somewhere with Champions League football.

If we're seen to be serious about our targets, then it shows ambition and that may raise our stock with other, more realistic targets.

Indeed - this is all about the one thing Hughes quoted when he joined us = ambition.

As you imply, I guess all teams have their Bartons.
