Harsh. He has more to his game then that as shown by the ball he slipped in for the goal at home against Liverpool. Think he has another assist to his name too??

When you have strikers who hold the ball up like Heider and Boddy think the instruction is to get the ball forward early.

id go ali faurlin vice captain due to the fact that his english isnt the best therefore will struggle to communicate with the players. depends if hughes wants to sign a player to be captain next season or whether he picks a player already at the club. if so id go for anton
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

We have a captain when Barton is back.Until then I would give it to Cisse. He knows the business.

I was thinking the same thing. I think Faurlin would make a good captain - he's one of our best players.

Derry, however, is defiantly the natural leader in the squad though. He battles well, he shouts out instructions, he's experienced, he says the right thing and the fans absolutely love him. But the big question is, will he be a first team regular next season? As much as I love the guy, I hope we sign a better holding midfielder this summer

I like Anton, he's a nice guy and seems to have an affinity with the club. However, I'm not convinced that he and Nedum are good enough to be regular starters. Give the armband to Ale with Shaun Derry as club captain.

Am probably on my own but I really do not understand the Faurlin love in. Seems like a nice guy and is an ok player but I believe that he is too slow, weak in the challenge and really does not score enough goals for someone playing centre mid.

Hope I am proved wrong but I doubt that he will be a regular nest season.

He most certainly is not captain material. You want a captain to set an example and only Hill and Mackie do that in my opinion. Even then, I suspect that our new captain will be someone that we sign in the summer.

i agree. not a proper captain in our team and faurlin is getting too much too soon-think he could turn out to be a good player but some people hype him up like he is a god-send for us. jury still out on him at the top level. big season for him.

for me too. Said it before - he is class and we need to treat him like Arsenal did with Farbregas.

Weak in the challenge? Before the injury had the best tackle rate in the Premier League. He does need more goals but he pulls the strings and dictates the pace. He sits and plays passes that our other players simple won't /can't make.

He will definately be a regular if fit - hopefully with Diakite. Who do you put ahead of him...Barton???

EDIT: Oh...just read your last comment. You want a captain that runs - no matter what the quality. I see why you are not a football manager now.

He was brilliant before the injury and his stats prove it. Not sure what more he has to do to impress you.

Not sure his command of English is good enough for him to be captain though to be honest.

its not me he has to impress. not saying he won't stamp his mark but people need to stop making out he's world class. he had a good first half of one season in the top flight and even tho he looks the part lets not get ahead of ourselfs and claim he's the messiah. he still has a lot to do. never a captain.

                            Never?

And no-one is claiming he's a messiah, we're saying he's a very good player, and better than most of our squad.

The praise for him is not hype, it's giving him credit for the quality he has.

did i say he was a bad player???please point out if i did. i said never as in now concerning him being our captain. he was a stand out midfielder in a poor midfield for half a season-this coming year will show where he's at. then we shall bow.

And I agree he shouldn't be captain.

                                What are we arguing about?
