I stopped reading when I got to "Evening Standard columnist". That paper and that columnist in particular has forgotten it is written for Londoners.

The Telegraph claims Barton was on the way out before the City game

Hughes had already decided before Barton’s latest act of indiscipline that the midfielder was not part of his plans and should leave for the good of the club.
QPR will examine the legal situation and are weighing up their options but chairman Tony Fernandes and chief executive Phil Beard are aware of Hughes’s thinking.

Interesting. Hughes is all about professionalism, something which Barton seems incapable of, so it makes some sense.
