He won't need to be paid whilst on his ban then. That will save us some money, could buy another player on the wages we pay him x a 10 game ban.

The sooner this cretin leaves the club the better. He couldn't give a toss. Hopefully we've got grounds to end his contract.

I have a feeling that these comments notwithstanding, if he is either sacked or suspended without pay, he will go legal and fight for every penny.

Thread title & first paragraph on the piece are both misleading.

He clearly says he has 'enough money to not have to care about anyone's opinion' which is a fair point not that he 'doesn't care if he's sacked'

              Big difference.

In fairness its pretty criminal the way the Express manufacture news to play up on readers' prejudices, obsessions and fears. Worst of the worst. Next week they'll reveal Joey is a gypsy immingrant benefits cheat responsible for the death of Diana and keeps Madeline McCann locked away in his cellar.

I fear this is the kind of journalism that you mention.

Have to say, I´m in two minds about Joey Barton. Anyway, I dont think Mark Hughes feels the same .
                    But that´s another story

I wouldn't give a stuff about anyone's opinion either if I was in his position to be fair.
