But analyse for a second what he actually did...

    1. Wrongly retaliated on Tevez with a little swing of the elbow. Shouldn't have done it but don't be fooled, there was hardly anything in it as proved by the fact Tevez didn't have a mark on him! If he'd hit him with a full blown elbow his nose would be smashed and there'd be claret everywhere.

    2. Put a knee in the back of Aguero's leg. No lasting effects, just served to make himself look stupid for doing

    3. Did he throw his head towards Kompany or did Lescott push his head, which then took it towards Kompany at which point something was said... I'm not sure.

    4. Wasn't prepared to take verbal from a jumped Italian troublemaker.

For the above he should in some peoples opinions be booted out of the club, thrown to the Wolves and hung out to dry, and the FA will issue a stupidly long ban no doubt.

Compare the above incidents to any shocking leg breaker tackle, of which we've seen many, such as Balotelli on Song, Rose against Villa, etc etc...m those tackles could end careers and most people get 3 game bans for them, altho the ref didn't even give a foul for the one on Song!

Point being, this imo is blown way out of porportion because there were multiple minor incidents in the heat of the moment, and after all that, the biggest injury caused was probably Tevez bruising his ar5e when he threw his weighty frame to the ground.... The world's gone mad.

    Sums it up perfectly,,
    Barton is Innocent ok....

I wonder if all those will still back him if he gets a 10 game ban for violent conduct and a further 4 game ban for bringing the game into disrepute. The FA could very easily throw the book at him over this.

Everyone's going on about how passionate and what a hero he is, not taking crap off anyone etc, but what use will he be to the club missing the first 1/4 of the season whilst picking up his weekly 80k.

yep still back him no matter what the ban he receives for his selfless act of trying to take one of the City players with him. What a leader

Leaders lead by example!!! If others follow his lead we'd have no players by Christmas Derry and Hill were both sent off but didn't see either of them lose their cool. They are real leaders notM 'psycho' Barton.

Did anything he did cause anyone injury, lasting damage, trauma.... no. Get over it, see the bigger picture and wait and see what punishment the authorities deem relevant.

Ask the likes of Aguero or any pro what would've been worse, a little knee in the leg or a knee high career threatenting tackle we see all too often, from loads of players, and not from Barton i'd like to note....?

I know what they'd all say. yet all those incidents are only worth of a 3 game ban. The FA disciplinary process is a farce.

stand by your captain! if the **** can stand by Terry then im sure we could do the same for Barton. His selfless attempt to take a City player with him should be applauded...WELL DONE JOEY

I'm all for passion, fight, aggression and leadership and Bartons got it
in abundance........ its just that he doesn't channel it in the right direction Don't think a minimun 12 match ban shows leadership or indeed the intelligence he seems to think he has!
By the way I am a supporter who supports and proud to have been a season ticket holder for over 40 years

My support is for QPR and not Joey Barton. It was only a few weeks ago many on this board and in the ground were slating Barton big time. All of a sudden he acts like a one man SWAT team and he's gained hero status........ very strange!!

I think youve missed out the part where he got booed & dropped then came back and finished the season with some superb performances

                                Jesus wept.
