Don't shoot the messenger but I heard a few weeks ago that if we stayed up the Mittals would be investing something like 100million. This was through a friend who's usually good with info. I guess we'll all find out in a few hours!

Great, we'd be able to buy Messi's bootlaces with that

Seriously though, if that's true, that'd give us some serious clout.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

they would not announce it iof we had 100m to spend as it just puts us in a bad negotiating position.

The announcement may be a new sponsorship deal

Don't know about this, but I feel Hughes must have been promised some serious financial backing to sign on in the first place.

My money's on a new stadium. Could be just the training ground, but it would be a bit anti-climatic and I don't understand why they would have waited until after we were safe to announce that.

new stadium couldnt be announced just like that. wd take months - maybe years - of negotiation with council etc for planning permission. he talked about building blocks - sure it will be new training ground at the site already mentioned at length.

as someone has mentioned - would a new training ground be big news in the football world?....

It'll be the training ground announcement.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

hmm.. if IT is saying all over the media, kit wouldnt be a new training ground- who gives a sh1t?

New ground would be massive news but to the extent of the whole media? nahhhh.. Look at the exposure chelsea got for buying a power station or whatever. It could be bigger than we all anticiapte, or it could be sweet F.A

People have got this wrong. Ian Taylor simply said he would be on the news channels, which he has been all morning, it's got nothing to do with the announcement. As TF said on talksport, that will be in a few days.
