And there lies the problem.
Hughes likes to play 2 up - one quick and with an eye for goal along side one with strength, hold up play and a brain.
You can't slate the latter for the former's absence and you can't blame Hughes for the fact we didn't have a ready made replacement for Cisse during his suspensions.

Let's face it, we waited 15 years to get a goalscorer of Cisses' quality so it's not like we had a replacement hiding in the store room waiting to step up.

BZ has done a fine job in the circumstances and as for the chances on Saturday, remember the keeper saved 2 of them.

He holds the ball up well..puts himself about....but needs to play up top with someone who will capitalise on the problems he causes.....

His game in recent years has never been about scoring (1 in 5 ave) but more about being the target man / foil up front for others to feed off of, thanks to Cisse being a complete idiot that partnership hasn't had an opportunity to work which I think it was pretty obvious it would have.

Let's not be critical over West Brom, first chance was a great save by keeper who came rushing out at 100 mph, second chance Zamora done brilliantly to win the header with TWO players marking him & that chance could of easily gone in. Third chance was a very bad effort & should have most def done better so on the whole considering he was on his own up front I thought he done well.

As I say I blame Cisse for a lot of our problems & Zamora's lack of goals / assists being one of them.

cant believe we are even discussing this tbh, i think he is a great player who deserves more of the refs. he should have his name changed from Bobby to Climbing Frame Zamora. Had mackie got his #### out the way in time on saturday this topic wouldntve even come up.

Agree with all of that, especilly those two parts.

Anyone who thinks Zamora hasnt done it for us needs their head testing.

Cisse has got an easy ride because he's scored a couple of goals, when in actual fact his sendings off have killed us and left Zamora up top by himself.

Zamora has been good since he came even he missed couple of chanches against WBA. Hopefully he stick with us next season,no matter if are we in PL or not
