The reaction on here will all be about Diouf and what a terrible character he is etc. And I don't dispute that. But I'm more interested in what Anton Ferdinand was doing in a nightclub in Manchester "in the early hours", apparently getting involved in a fight involving a glass attack, and then being interviewed under caution. The bloke is paid a fortune to keep fit and stay focused on our relegation battle. Anything cd have happened. I hope the club look into this very closely and if he is found to have done anything wrong, fined very heavily.

Night off, sure. Couple of pints and dinner in a restaurant. But early hours in a nightclub ending up in a glass fight and being arrested? Why is this just considered a normal night out in football when in any other sport - hardly any of which pay anthing like the same kind of money - it wd be considered a complete scandal. Does Andy Murray go out and get bladdered and into fights after a tennis match (which incidentally he lost)? These guys are meant to be professional athletes.

Visiting his brother and former Sunderland team-mate, presumably.

Yep, am sure you are right. But where was Rio "in the early hours"? Presumably he had had the sense to go home by then.

'Diouf had threatened to knife Ferdinand whilst at Sunderland'.

Such a charming man! Not sure what anton is doing out at 3am in a club but as long as he wasn't annebriated I guess it's fine. After all Diouf is the one has been arrested. Ferdinand just interviewed as to what happened.

No, interviewed under caution is not being interviewed as a witness. If you accept a caution you are accepting guilt, and it stays on your record for five years.

Yea I get that, obviously some sort of stand off between the two of them. My point mainly was that they weren't out together as some have suggested. They hate each other.

Rio had a game yesterday so wouldn't have been out.
