I'd say (probably being QPR bias here) that Blackburn are no bigger than us and Birmingham fractionally bigger. The rest aren't.

Irrelevant. Mr Savage asked a valid question. He didn't play for any 'big clubs' because he wasn't good enough -- as he explained on "606" a couple of weeks back to someone who made the same point to him.

Mr Hughes, he clearly believes, is good enough to manage a so-called big club. Hence the question. He also said on the radio last weekend that he knows Mr Hughes very well and socialises with him, so there was probably a spot of joshing implicit in the enquiry.

I don't mind the fellow. He provides a different perspective, even compared with the other ex-footballers in the media. He's much more instinctive in his opinions than most, and somewhat less pompous. I consider this quite an agreeable quality.
