At Fulham he took half a season to get things right, so should be all set for the championship.

Yes, so in that respect they took a gamble on this appointment. Not very impressing. But I sincerly hope it´s all according to a plan.

Hughes is a seasoned Premier league manager and whilst I have noticed some scathing comments being levelled in his direction and suggestions that Warnock himself could have done a better job I can't see past the players themselves for being at fault for the demise of the season. Warnock in my opinion needed to be replaced and the board acted as quickly as possible to address that situation and it was the right decision. Hughes himself was also the right man for the job and everyone agreed that at the time and I still believe it was the correct decision appointing him.

Hindsight is always a great thing and is easy for us to criticise team selections but up to now the teams what Hughes has fielded in my opinion were about as
strong for every game of which was possible. He has been let down by poor discipline on the pitch, poor finishing in front of goal and a complete and total lack of leadership from our Capt
I do agree with you in that my displeasure with regard to where we are is not aimed at the manager but solely on the players.

My only issue with Hughes is in relation to how he arrived. His appointment was done on a very business model. He wasn't an ex R coming back to save us or an out of work manager that had a soft spot for us. Hughes appointment was calculated, he arrived with an agent and took time to consider whether we were ambitious enough for him. I cannot recall an appointment like that before, normally when players move you get that type of baggage and commercialism but not really with managers.

Coyle and Mcleish went to bigger clubs and I'm sure they have agents but it didnt appear as blatant as Hughes.

I slightly disliked a manager being so closely linked to an agent. The fact NW said after he left that prior to him leaving agents were on the phone about his position, does make you think.

If Hughes was a foreign manager, I think more would question how he portrays himself. He makes Sven look compassionate.

MH made sure the team he took over and who we signed were capable of surviving and therefore he can't lay any blame on his predecessor or the board.

I just believe the method in which he was appointed was so commercially driven that I have little if any sympathy for him if we go down but as the OP
says I won't blame him. I just see it as a commercial transaction that seems to have failed.

I did however have great sympathy with NWs departure as he was just funny and whatever anyone says he loved our club.
