  • There's not much wrong, we will beat Bolton.

    I'm keen on stats, and I know it doesn't work every time, but usually the team that creates the most chances wins games.

    In the last 4 games we deserved much more than the 1 points we gained, and we've been either very unlucky, or poor at our finishing, or probably both.

    Evidence. Assuming 1point for an attempt on target, and half a point for off target;

    V Everton - 16 - 6.5 = +9.5 http://www.sportinglife.com/football...ch/206862.html (should have won)
    V Fulham - 12.5 - 5 = +7.5 http://www.sportinglife.com/football...ch/206788.html Should have won)
    V Blackburn - 19 - 6 = +13 http://www.sportinglife.com/football...ch/206605.html (Should have won)
    V Wolves - 10.5 - 10 = +0.5 http://www.sportinglife.com/football...ch/206545.html (Should have drawn)

    How we didn't get 7+ points from these games defies logic, and we deserve a change of luck, plus with Cisse back, we are due to batter someone soon based on our chances created. It might as well be Bolton.

    Does anyone else think we've been unlucky, or poor at finishing?

    it takes all sorts to do well in the league. good decisions, good players, bounce of the ball, big players being out for the other team, clipping the right side of the post etc.

    we shall see...

        Being honest Gerry - it has to be poor at finishing although we have had some bad luck too.
        The straw I have been clutching at for weeks is the amount of chances we keep creating and on the basis that sooner or later our luck will change and we will pick up the much needed points. But, as I'm still waiting for it to happen I now believe it's all about the lack of goal scoring ability.
        Roll on Cisse who needs to uphold his promise of pay back by scoring in every remaining game

          No goals from a combined shot count from 2 players of 106 for the season is a mystery.

            Wolves & Everton I would agree with, but Blackburn & Fulham would have to disagree? absolute kack 1st half at blackburn poor defensively, can't give teams a 45 minute 3-0 head start an expect to win and blackburn had cahnces to extend their lead in 2nd half before we got going. as for Fulham always thought the were in control much better than we were also thought they could've gone up a gera if we would have scored only had to chances SWP & Mackie and both should've done better?
