Fined two weeks wages

Remember when managers always use to state that a player who got sent off or missed training etc would be fined two weeks wages?

Is this a thing of the past now these players earn so much wages and it would always be worth them fighting it in court if a club was to fine them?

I am thinking of Cisse in particular at the moment who has played about 1hr 40 minutes so far in his career at QPR and with the break at the weekend and his suspension makes for a very tidy hourly rate so far

2 weeks wages means nothing now. Even the Suarez fine was laughable ocnsidering how much they earn.
the only option i can think of is going for a month's wage, or 2 months' wage but that will never happen, nor is the simple answer to fine someone money.
there must be a better solution but i can't think of a manageable one....
community service? they do loads of press work and extra community service is jus tmore time away form the training ground.
clean all the players' boots?!

Anger management course with the most miserable sod telling em the rules ...everyday after training would sort it !!

I believe a 2 week maximum is what is recommended by the PFA. In particular I am thinking of the Tevez case where Man City initally fined him 4 weeks wages but had to reduce to 2.

Personally I would say a week's wages and community work to highlight it is not the way to behave.

I think 2 weeks wages is very little now to player.

I honestly don't think they bother with fines now.

A two week fine for them is the equivalent in my world of not allowing me to have any sugar in my tea, worth nothing at all and just leaves a sour taste for a bit.

Best bit of comedy I've read today is Jay Bothroyd in an interview claiming lots of prem players will move abroad due to the high tax rate here. Even if you overlook the fact that British tax rates are pretty similar if not lower than in France, Italy and Spain it is hilarious that these players a) think they are hard done by b) don't feel they have any duty to put anything back into a country that they take so much out of and c) that top continental clubs will be queuing up to sign players of their oh so incredible technical ability.
