    Interesting. On twitter...

I've just seen a tweet by Stats_Official, which was retweeted by Ian Taylor.

We all complain about Joey Barton's performances, but according to this he has created the most chances (40) and put in the most crosses (121), more than anyone else at QPR. Now I'm sure if Faurlin wasn't injured he would still be our biggest creative threat but I found that very interesting. Makes you think if we had Zamora and Cisse at the start of the season Barton may well be leading the assist table at the club.

Yeah, but how many of those crosses / corners (I assume count) have been good? Most have hit first defender or sailed over the top of everyone.

Thats only because hes taken far more set pieces than anyone else and most of them have been rubbish!

another fact that means nothing. Joey Barton has captained qpr in the premier league more times than any other player in the last 15 years. :-)

Beat me to it! I would happily put money on him being top of the "Most crosses to not get past the first defender" chart.

Point taken but you could also argue how many good crosses has he put in that no forward managed to get on the end of?
Ah well, I thought it was interesting anyway. We can all go back to hating the guy now.

Joey will never win some fans over, even with a hat trick every week.

Fair play to him. On a positive spin, it shows he wants the ball more, and is trying to make things happen. He's not been the best technically, but he's not short of effort. I'm still backing him to succeed for us.

Not that it'll be enough for some.

That's what I was trying to get at mate, he's not as bad as everyone makes out, and this proves it.

His passing is sloppy at times i agree, and he doesnt need to take EVERY set piece, espcially as he isnt that much better than anyone else at taking them.

But he has improved immensly from the Barton we saw oct/nov time and puts a real shift in now every week.

Amen. His passing has cost us a lot of goals....again last sat when he should`ve had an assist for their first goal.

I'm not a Barton hater in the slightest as he is a decent player and as said never hides on the pitch and always gives his all. A better stat is the ground he covers for the cause.

My point re this stat is that its irrelevant without any other context, such as crosses that were met by a team mate for example. Its no different to saying someone had the most shots.... It doesn't highlight if they all went in row Z.

I hate to moan about any of our players but Bartons passes have been awful. Against Wolves I don't think he passed to one of his team mates more than a couple of times.

If he put as much effort into football as he does Twittly who knows how good he could be
