The phrase " must win game"

Really annoys me this phrase... For all the people who said "this is a must win game today"... Can you explain to me now we have lost what the outcome is...Cause we didnt get relegated yesterday!!

Its a game we should be winning, but please can you calling them must win games cause there not!

Every game is a must win game if you are serious at all, otherwise what do you call them 'it doesn't matter if we lose this one'

Of course we all want to win games week in week out. Isnt going to happen though.. All clubs drop points.. All im saying is we werent relegated yesterday.. yes if we want to stay up we should be beating sides like wolves at
home.. But if it was a must win game i take it we relegated in some peoples eyes yesterday?

someone said our FA Cup match against MKDons was a "must win" game. We even had a thread about it. It was, by a country mile, the least "must win" game we will play all season.

Anyway i think the next game is a Must Win Game for us

we weren't relegated yesterday... but we need to pick up points and we need to make sure that the other relegation candidates don't. so yesterday was a 'need to win' game.

any team looking to survive makes its job a lot easier by doing well against the lower teams. so far we've taken 7 points from 6 games against the teams below us, and in the same 6 games, those teams have taken 10 points. a net deficit of 3 points.

this gets worse... in 12 matches against the current top half, we've taken just 5 points - so we can't bank on those games to get us out of trouble. over the last 10 league games, we're bottom of the form league with just 5 points (to compare, bolton have taken 11 points).

i'm getting a bit worried...
