What is interesting in these squads is the "home grown" players because although Arsenal are legendarly for having a squad full of foreigners,the one that surprised me was Wigan with only 6 home grown !! second to arsenal,is this because overseas players dont actually know who Wigan are and blindly sign for Premier football,and home grown players know better ??

Its because Wenger steals these kids from African tribes when theyre about 14 and a "homegrown" player is defined as:

"A home-grown player will be defined as one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with a club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday".

Therefore, by the time they turn 18 and are ready to play in the first team, these Ghanaian Kids are deemed "homegrown".

Eh? Are you suggesting he should have been in the squad? Wow, he was very lucky to get that contract extension let alone get a game in the PL?!

That's also why only 4 or 5 teams could name full 25 man suads.vacancies for home grown players.

How come that it appears that Matty started this thread, when in fact I did? It's not that important but I would like to know as we have had people changing thread titles as well and I don't think it's right.
