A lot of clubs have cooled on him this season. So have Bristol City's fans (I work with one, an ex pro at City and he is not impressed). Not convinced he can do it week in week out in the Prem if he can't do it in the Championship.Comment

1. The cheap alternative for smaller clubs with smaller budgets
2. He was what we used to really want, but now we can attract bigger and better

we already have half a dozen strikers of similar quality. We either sign someone who is a real step up or we might as well stick with the also-rans we currently have.Comment

Maynard at 2 mill is a no brainier to me! He's quick and a good finisher and under Hughes I think he could be class! Also if the worst does happen and we were relegated he'd be very useful in the champipnship!
