  • what's going through Mark Hughes' Mind

What can he have thought after that abject and inept display last night. I would never condone booing, but it was a depressing sight being given a football lesson by a team two divisions below us. They were playing the way we should be playing, and were playing last season. No one stood out, no one made much effort, and worse, no one seemed to care much. Players slouched around the pitch, their heads held low, almost ashamed to be there.

I know this is a short period of transition, and we are missing two massive key players in Adel and Armand (Joey does his bit, but I wouldn't say he was key), and the string of bad results will hardly inspire confidence, but that still does not forgive an utterly unconvincing display.

Mark is going to need all his powers of motivation, of confidence building, and of organisation. But he's also got to work on skills, with a complete absence of first touch football last night, and also get players moving around and being instinctively aware of what their team-mates are doing and what they're thinking.

The game on Saturday is massive. Lose it and forget Premiership football next season. And we can do our bit, by shouting ourselves hoarse from start to finish, and lifting those players (including Jay) by letting them all know that we are all right behind them.

In answer to your first question i imagine its "what the fk am indoing here"

think you realise how much we miss joey when he's not there we were also
Missing 4 players in total as you forgot about faurlin

Hughes is doing his stiff defensively we looked better /tighter ref yesterday what we saw was a team scared of the ball so well done boo boys

We now need a break and support at home an away

Hughes has probably only had 4-5 training sessions , big improvement so far

Cup not real life , their biggest game prob on massive bOnis to win as the Cheshit game would have been their biggest ever gate and we struggled to raise our game vs a team 2 leagues below

Fk it were used to it were qpr , let's get behind them sat and try and help

No, what we need are some good EPL standard players. We've got quality everywhere, just that it's championship not EPL quality.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Hughes knew our league position, squad, recent results and how we have been playing. The 2 games he has managed us so far wouldnt have sprung up any real surprises.

So, whatever he signed up for he still has the same goal, plan etc. There are no shocks.
