Chelsea want rid of Alex. He was not a disruptive influence and had been popular. However, after he handed in a transfer request he arrived at training the next day to find his locker contents in a bin liner and barred from even speaking to, let alone training with, the rest of the first team. He and Anelka were also barred from a silver service Christmas meal laid on by the club.

According to the press he wants to stay in London.
