If we put a bid in for him there's no one who can say we aren't ambitious. Darren Bent is one of the best English strikers in the country and to just put a bid in for him would be awesome.

so are we thinking NW wanted to spend our money on the defence as he never put in a bid for Bent (i believe)? That's prob why he got Macheda - quite a big name up front but on the cheap.

I think Hughes will try and bring in at least three of Alex, Onuoha, Bridge and Samba. Considering he's already managed three of them he might have more luck than Warnock would've, and Alex, Onuoha and Bridge can probably all be had for 2.5 - 3.5m each.
