Loyalty AND sentiment plays little part in modern day football. Personally felt he deserved to have the whole season. The board have long term objectives and being relegated would have mean't a complete reversal of those plans.
We have only won 1 game at home all season and recent performances have been uninspiring, though unlucky v Norwich. Always felt players were giving 100% certainly in games against Norwich and Sunderland without neccesarily being good enough. On the flip side under pressure managers do tend to tinker and some decisions were baffling and the one where you play SWP for around 10 minutes on the right was the biggest surprise to me. Unlucky with injuries to players like Ferdinand and Campbell.
He did have very little time to get a squad together, but those best games were much earlier on. He leaves highly regarded which is a help to him and at least he never got us relegated.
We move on and I suspect the board already know who will be in charge and I'd expect a new manager in this week.
