Yeah, this was harmless and possibly even fairly amusing until Barton managed to draw the disapproval of some chap from Mencap seeking to make capital from the player's use of the word 'retard'. With Barton's reputation being what it is, he risks making himself and the club look bad whenever he chooses to do things like this.
