From what we've seen so far...

Who thinks our Joey is good value for money considering he's on a reported 80 large a week.

This isnt an anti Barton thread just wondering what the feeling is out there.

Me, personally i think there's more to come from him, i think he is better than what we've seen so far

I think if he plays in CM we will see the real Joey Barton, he's not a RM.

He was in almost all his time at NUFC.
But I'd rather see him and Faurlin in the centre.

Barton needs to be in the middle of the park. He is what Scot is to Spurs, here there every where. And Parker was man of the match. Barton can and should be the same.

He needs to play in the middle and have 2 decent wingers either side of him.

He hasn't been incredible, but has still been pretty good and always wants the ball, plus I think he's a very good captain for us to have this season.

Lets reserve judgement until the end of the season instead of the end of October.

Barton? So did Hughton & Pardew, so did Shearer.
Steven Gerrard played on flanks for England, same kind of thing.

Little knives coming out for Warnock here? Fair enough, we'll see in may where we are.

For me just think be is having to play a little to deep, probably not reliant on some of our defending and when he is breaking play up there is an awful gap to our frontman/ men.

play him in CM and i think you will get the best out of him. Play him RW to accommodate an underperforming "star" player and you wont. Same thing for SWP and playing him on the left wing...

I thought we bought him because he was one of the best CM in the country......so why would you play him anywhere else
                        ?!!

he may not be playing in favoured position, but he has also been caught on the ball and miss placed many passes.

I think he is still a good signing, for a number of reasons, but he hasn't performed well enough, often enough......yet.

Replace Derry with Barton and use SWP and Smith as wingers. Barton does not have pace/skills to play as a winger. He is good in tackling.
