Another one who needs to look at himself. Tarabat has offered more to the side this season than Barton who is on silly money!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

I am starting to think that it's either or, and I fear we will lose Taarabt, as I feel Barton coming is the proverbial straw for him - wouldn't blame him for going if his own captain is going to #### him off like that.
Taarabt inspired the others last season with a string of great performances, Barton can hardly claim the same.

This is a very sad situation, and I wonder if NW will have the balls to censure JB for this -- or is he too afraid of his own captain?

It's now clear that there are alot of bad feelings between the players behind the scene.

Barton does need to step up his own game. But, you can't deny barton is spot on about adel. How many times have us fans said exactly the same thing? Adel is a brilliant player when he wants to be, and that's the key, he has to want to be a brilliant player in this league, and to do that he has to work more and sulk less. Barton is right.

I am quoting you now. "I fear we will lose Taarabt", why when he has said he wants to go for more money in January, so just accept it as it his wishes.

Also, last year you and others were saying don't worry about Taarabt being captain when he done certain things, so why don't you apply the same rules to Barton ?

Taarabt never slagged off his own players, and he delivered the goods on the pitch.
He also wanted to be here, whereas Barton has admitted he didn't want to leave Newcastle, and his lack of spirit shows his heart isn't in it for us -- where is the Barton from that Arsenal game who showed fire and passion? If he was giving 100%, we'd accept the odd flare-up, yellow card or even red card, if we felt it was down to the desire to win.
His mind is still at Newcastle, and he shouldn't be captain for that reason alone, let alone slagging off his own team-mate publicly.
He should be punished for that, but I bet NW hasn't got the balls for it.

I make Barton right, but in the same breath, Joey needs to step his game up as well. Not just that, but it's not his place to judge players. There's clearly a lot of unrest in the camp, and I lay that blame with Neil. I championed our manager from the start, and I still have a lot of love for him, but since promotion he has become a bit of a pr!Ck. Many will say he's always been one, but I liked him as I felt it was all for a good cause. Now I'm getting pretty sick of his excuses and the way he conducts himself.

Am I now a bad fan, Neil?

Sign that he's out of his depth?

I fear that un-rest in the dressing room is going to bed our downfall!!
There is too much divide with the salary structure, and with some players being on £15k and others on £60k, then this is not right.
If you were at work in the office or any other work place you would expect to be on salary structure that does upset collegues...wouldnt you?? Especially when higher paid players arent as affective as the lower paid others.
Anyway, we need Barton to step up and show why he thinks he should be our captain.

ps we definateyly need a centre back, urgently!!
