Buzz was lively, alert & quick at Everton.
Personally wouldn't have him in place of Taarabt as imo he's looked very good this season bar a couple of games.
I'd go with;
------------------Kenny---------------------
Young-----Ferdinand-----Gabbidon-----Traore
----Barton-----Buzz-----Faurlin-----SWP
----------------Taarabt-------------------
--------------DJ Campbell----------------
I love Derry but every game might be a bit much for him. I may be wrong but I'd personally go with a more faster paced midfield that could link with the front 2 quick & fast. Would require Faurlin to step up his defensive side though.
If our pace can get us goals bring on Derry second half to shore things up.

Thats a great side tbf Ric, would love to see that start vs Blackburn. Lets hope Davesview is still an avud reader of this site and passes the info onto NW for us...Originally posted by Ric-Roc View PostBuzz was lively, alert & quick at Everton.

As I say Matty absolutely love Lord Derry & the job he's done / is doing is superb, always Mr reliable.
BUT seeing as we are so struggling for goals I feel we need to abandon that style & use the pace & creativity we have got at our disposal. And then as I said if it looks like we're winning the game then sacrifice Buzz or another mid to accommodate Derry to settle things & shut out the game.
All opinions of course & I'm sure someone will shoot it down but hey ho!

Sign me up. I'd guarantee goals from a dead ball situation. 14 goals one season from a dead ball was my best season and cannot remember a season where I never scored at least 3 from free kicks. Only trouble now is that I'm 33, my right ankles ruined, my left knee is f**ked and I'm about 2 stone too heavy! Golf anyone???

IMO, thats without doubt the most sensible post weve had yet on the subject of team formations. Backed up and justifiedOriginally posted by Ric-Roc View PostAs I say Matty absolutely love Lord Derry & the job he's done / is doing is superb, always Mr reliable.

Tbf though mate the average standard of keeper in the "Surrey Schools Disability League Division 4 South" isn't too great is it?Originally posted by Dazzer1977 View PostSign me up. Why would anyone play SWP out of position, he is not a left midfielder or a left winger (although he could give it a go) but he is extremely dangerous on the right.Originally posted by Ric-Roc View PostBuzz was lively, alert & quick at Everton.

I would play the following and they are all in their favored positions.
------------------- Kenny ------------------
- Young - Ferdinand - Gabbidin - Traore -
----------- Barton ----- Faurlin -----------
---- SWP -------- Buzz -------- Smith ----
--------------- DJ Campbell ---------------Last edited by paulmason; 05-10-2011, 10:34 AM.

NW has rotated SWP from wing to wing in EVERY single game he's played so that tells me he is capable of doing a job on the left &Originally posted by paulmason View PostWhy would anyone play SWP out of position, he is not a left midfielder or a left winger (although he could give it a go) but he is extremely dangerous on the right.

Cutting in.
And you would drop Taarabt for Smith? HmmmLast edited by Guest; 05-10-2011, 10:39 AM.

And it is a pointless exercise, as SWP is best on the right and surprise, surprise is where he has looked the most dangerous when he has played. Yes he will give it a go on the left, but he ripped Newcastle a new poo pipe on the right and if HMS Bothroyd could score goals (not to much to ask for a striker), he would have had 2-3 assists that night.Originally posted by Ric-Roc View PostNW has rotated SWP from wing to wing in EVERY single game he's played so that tells me he is capable of doing a job on the left &

Taarabt dropped himself by walking out at half time on Sunday in my books and if would be Buzz for Tarrabt, not Smith for Taarabt and Smith has looked lively when he has come on and deserves a start after that display on Sunday.

Fair points.
Personally I believe SWP can do a job on either wing, he's an experienced winger, he also made some good things happen from the left against Newcastle.
The way you have set things up totally changes the shape of our team that I'm sure have been working on our formation & shape for the last month. The way I set them up is more of a tweak than wholesale changes to maximise the potential we have got.

I have the same formation NW has played all last year and so far this season 4-2-3-1, you have changed it to 4-4-1-1 also, my suggestion has players playing in potions they like and are most effective in, providing natural shape and balance, yours are not (although I accept they will play where they are told).Originally posted by Ric-Roc View PostFair points.
