Getting back to Joey, there's no doubt that he gets people's backs up, including neutrals. Media have a huge role there, they're not happy if he doesn't deliver a bona fide reason to be down on him, and will always present a slanted view of anything he's involved in. He can have the last laugh by staying on the right side but he's bound to slip sooner or later..

Sadly for me..Barton is in my top 2...along with douuf.....
He's a fantastic player, just an absolute t-er as a man.....
i think the stubbing the cigarrette in his own team mates eye thing probably did it for me.
Dont even want to start with his family's history !!
Sorry...some-one had to say what many people are thinking
I'll await the blind abuse now.......

My personal opinion is that, across the board of football fans, Diouf (whether he is assigned to a club or not atm) and Barton are the most hated in the PL, closely followed by Cole.
I, personally, love Joey, even before he signed for QPR I used to think he was a great character and the sort football needs. Love him or hate him, he gives us things to talk about.
Yes, the whole cigar issue, along with the beating of Dabo, was pretty disgusting theres no defending that, but they were years ago, why is it people still bring those up when nobody ever mentions Jonathon Woodgate's racial attack anymore? It seems certain players are allowed to branded as "maturer and grown up" yet some will never be allowed to have their pasts forgotten.
Joey, for years now, has simply been a top quality footballer that plays with passion and puts 110% in for the club whos shirt he is wearing. He hasnt been involved in any scenarios like Roy Keane's tackle on Haarland, like Ben Thatchers elbow or anything like that, he isnt a "dirty" player, he is simply passionate on the pitch and a natural winner.
Just MHO anyway. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Sums it up for me. We've all done things I'm our past that we'd rather not have done, and Joey's are up there without doubt but the regard he is held in at Newcastle speaks volumes for how he has changed. He is currently clean as far as civil and footballing authorities are concerned; he has to live with his past but he should be allowed to get on with his life as he has paid for his mistakes.Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostPeople cant argue with that mate.
