    Taarabt Pay Rise..

    According to the mail,

Queens Park Rangers forward Adel Taarabt wants a new contract to put him in line with the club’s top earners, even though he has just been stripped of the club captaincy.

I reckon Warnock sets him some targets by January, see if he earns it.

Judging by his performance the other night, he's still one of our best players and if he keeps performing at that level, it's well deserved.

I think now that he has better players around him he will perform. The pressure isn't squarely on him any more.

The only way he will get a pay rise is if he signs a new long term deal, and that would include increasing the term and any release clause.

The negotiation power for this has shifted as with the current owners and investment we are not so muuch dependant on him as we have other players now.

I personally would wait and see what he does up to Jan, because if you give him a new deal, you need to give Paddy one and others who signed 3 year deals when NW took over who we may want to keep.

Spot on Ninja. He now knows if he wants to be the top dog he has to raise his game. With the players we've brought in he won't want to leave either unless he got a massive money move.

Tptally plucking figures out the air here but i imagine its circa 20k a week basic with appearance, assist and goal add ons plus a payrise of circa 10k should we stay up this year? Wont be a huge earner by football standards but the fact he was given a new deal this year tells me that he is very much appreciated by the club and I think they would have rewarded him nicely for last years efforts (which in turn he is defiantley rewarding us back with his performances this year!).

I cant imagine when we signed him he would have been on too much, coming from a club like Palace (where surely he wouldnt have been on more than 12k a week?) and I doubt; being the age etc that he was, we would have increased that by much?

As i Say, i have no idea but this is just my guess on it.

As Matty says he was given a new deal last month, and I think is also includes coaching badges etc.. as the owners want him around for longer due to his attidue and professionalisum.

I expect in years to come to see have less impact on the pitch but more of a role off it

Hope it's true. That way he will be on a longer contract!
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes
