SWP will gain most plaudits as he is an eye catching sort of player. But I think, aswell as him, Young, Traore and Ferdinand (all equally)will be just as important. Our defence was awful (6 conceded in 2 against Wigan n Bolton says it all!) before they were brought in. Look to have instantly got a great understanding. Plus we all know the quality of Barton. So in summary, sounds like a cop out, but I genuinally think they are all going to be as good a buy as eachother.

But for the Polls purpose Ive voted Young. Will be a very valuable and important addition IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

For his energy, drive, motivating power, and skill, I think it will prove to be Barton.

Desperately needed full backs, and Young is a class act, just hope he stays fit.

Depends on the time-scale, but I've gone for Young too.

Very hard to tell, all will be very important. I put my vote on ferdinand, solid and vision.

This is a hard one. Joey Barton is exactly the player we needed, Armand Traore is going to be a star, but Shaun Wright Phillips makes things happen and he's so direct. So 'Sweep' as Joey Barton calls him gets my vote
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Tough on. Maybe Barton for the solidity he will give but I'm going to go SWP.

In the short term it would have to be SWP for me, simply becasue we will be desperate for points this season, and he will create something from nothing and either score or beat a couple of players and lay it on for someone to win points.

In the long term i think it will be Traore as he is very young and good enough that he could become our resident LB for 10 years, and would only improve gradually with regular games, which he'll get with us....
