I think the thing that really gives this legs is our new CEO who would have been involved with Dave in the 2012 olympic bid and used to work for AEG who I believe own LA Galaxy, we may have a trump card in this.

And for my two pennyworth from a financial and an onfield perspective it would be an amazing deal.

That was solely due to LA Galaxy upping the insurance premium over 7 figures at the very last minute. Playing registration documents had been prepared.

Now he's about to fall out of contract, the situation will be different.

Still expect him to stay in the US though - part of his MLS deal allows him an ownership stake in another club. Wouldn't be surprised if he turned up at Vancouver Whitecaps as he is pretty close to Steve Nash and Paul Barber.

Thanks Nodge for explaining it. I knew there was a hitch but couldn't quite remember what it is.

As much a I'd love it to be true (imagine the income he would bring!), IMO, this will never come off. An enquiry made and we are intersted, maybe. But actually having it come off, no way.

I cannot believe all this fuss over nothing!

Amit's tweet was a joke! Completely tongue in cheek:

"seems like we are plotting to get Becks to Loftus Road! Shall I call him tomm to ask if he'll come!? ;) whaddayasay?? Ha"

Just goes to show how poor today's journalists really are. Rubbish story that has arisen from a joke.
