The Daily Poll Who Will Partner Barton V Newcastle United?

Personally, I'd play Derry and Barton holding, giving Barton the freedom to roam, with Buzz behind the forward, and Taarabt and SWP either side. That'd be a potent line up.

For me here is the simple explanation as to why is should be a Derry-Barton partnership v Newcastle. Barton can do what Faurlin does, just better, but Faurlin can not do what Derry does.

NW has been after Puncheon for some time and if he is fit, I can't see him not starting. With SWP & Joey Barton playing, it will be interesting to see who plays and where NW plays them, as some big players are going to miss out.

I would go with the following, if they are all 100% fit.

I get the impression that he wants Puncheon as pace off the bench, in the same situation as he kept forcing Miller to go wide as a sub last year. Can't see him starting.
I'd play Buzz behind the front two because
a- in the two games he has played here we have looked a much better defensive shape, unlike Bolton where they just ran through us.
b- you need a good passer in that position to link play with the three attackers.
It wouldn't amaze me if Barton played there, but I'd go with Buzz.
