Happy to confirm Pete never used those words and to be fair to the poster that did, OMFG was probably a reaction to the alleged £7.5m bid from us more than the actual player. The 'World Class' player may have been tounge in cheek bearing in my where that poster works, or it might simply refer to the fact that Crouch has played in a World Cup / Played around the World for England / etc.

But rightly so £10-£12m is far too much, well done Stoke.

I wonder about some people

If it had been confirmed 4 weeks ago that this little old club of ours had definite interest in an established Premiership striker, who had been playing at this level for a number of years and is likely to for at least 4 more (injuries permitting), who had Champions league experience, who had scored over 20 goals for England at senior level, who would almost certainly guarantee 15 goals this season AND you then chucked into the mix he's a local lad with affinity for the club then I'm sure meltdown would've occurred.

I for one would've loved Crouchy back
