Agree those are our best 11 players, just not sure its the best team. DJ only works in a 4-4-2 for me because think he's only worth playing as a striker - and that is too attacking when you are relying on Tabs in midfield.Originally posted by Mattyqpr View PostKenny

Can't see how it's too attacking? 4 attacking players?Originally posted by stainrodisalegend View PostAgree those are our best 11 players, just not sure its the best team. I agree with DJ but i think he'll be fine playing wide of a target man. Jay likes to drift out wide to the right a lot, which will enable DJ to move in the opposite direction.
I think we've got a lot of movement with our attacking players, we'll be a nightmare to defend against.

maybe you are right. just thought against bolton dj looked like a striker playing as a winger so was miles away from bothroyd's knock downs, so for me we either play two up top (DJ and Jay) or Jay drops to the bench. who knows? early days and as you say plenty of movement. at least we have the talent now, its just trying to find the right slot for them all.

Yeah, at least NW has got this nice problem to solveOriginally posted by stainrodisalegend View Postmaybe you are right. just thought against bolton dj looked like a striker playing as a winger so was miles away from bothroyd's knock downs, so for me we either play two up top (DJ and Jay) or Jay drops to the bench. who knows? early days and as you say plenty of movement. at least we have the talent now, its just trying to find the right slot for them all.

I would drop Faurlin at first, but I feel that as soon as he finds his feet he'll be very good this season. He'll come good and as soon as he finds form I think he'll push Derry out of the side, obviously Derry has been good for us and if he keeps his place then fair play to him, but I think once Ali settles in to the league he'll be a real asset for us this season.Originally posted by BennyBoyRs View PostI'm genuinely shocked that there are more than one ok with dropping Derry. He's been our best player, whilst Faurlin has been less than average in games.

I don't doubt that either, mate, but Derry has been our best player, and until his form drops, he's a starter. I agree with an earlier idea that both have attributes for certain teams as well. Derry for the Stoke's, and Ali for the Manure's.Originally posted by DelTrotter View PostI would drop Faurlin at first, but I feel that as soon as he finds his feet he'll be very good this season. That was actually the point I was trying to make, thats why I put Buzsaky/Campbell aswell, I wouldn't drop Buzz but it's inevitable NW will give DJ a chance on the wing. Couldn't seem to word it properlyOriginally posted by BennyBoyRs View PostI don't doubt that either, mate, but Derry has been our best player, and until his for drops, he's a starter. Still think that if we could do a 3 man midfield (in a 4-3-3) that would be good but wouldn't work due to Adel not tracking back and following the full back, therefore leaving Traore to handle a right winger and a right back without any help from Adel.
