I think it time to take the armband away from Taarabt when we got proper leader in the team like Barton and Derry who is more deserving of the captain role!

In all honesty it was a genius bit of man management from Warnock. Giving Adel the armband means that Warnock can keep on at him to not disappear from games and essentially means he has to be more responsible. Sure he still has his moments but he has matured a hell of a lot over the last 12 months and has added a lot more team ethic to his game, maybe not as much as some would like but he does more than some give him credit for

The armband is irrelevant to players like Derry and Barton as they will play exactly the same way with it or without it.

I think the Summer would have been a good tie to appoint Derry but now Adel has started the season as captain, I think it would be hard to ditch him. Who is 'club captain'? That would be perhaps more of an important role.
