Unfortunately the days are long gone when an England cap was to be coverted. Over the last decade they have been given out far far too easilly with 11 subs in friendlies etc. When there are some key players injured (or pulled out of squads) you end up with a second string starting some games and 3rd string coming on as subs getting caps.

It's a sorry state of affairs really. Doesn't take away from the fact he thinks he's far better than he is. To be fair, he started to look good at Blackburn, but has gone backwards faqst since then.
