After today's performance we need to replace about 8 of that team.
Most of them should be either our second string, or not in the reckoning at all.
Bet Barton was thinking, "No problems in waking into this team".

Good addition, need a left back, wouldn't go that far as need to replace 8 but did say forget today and lets see the side that takes the field against Newcastle, then we'll know whether to panic!

Bit unfair on the team there i reckon. It was always gonna be difficult away from home to an established Prem side with no full backs on the pitch.

We lost today's game in midfield -- most of our possession was very easily lost through being too easily dispossessed or by passes which were half a yard short and played people into trouble.
It meant the defence were constantly finding themselves on the rack and the attack had no service or support (although, on the odd occasions when something did look like happening, inevitably PA played like Eeyore).
Faurlin (I'm a big fan of his) looks to have lost all his confidence, Derry started looking as old as his hair, Smith (again, I'm a big fan of his) was too lightweight and Buzz was just as lacking in sharpness and awareness as the others. Taarabt came out with a bit more credit, but was passing to players, only to see them lose the ball one way or another.

Very different from the midfield who played confident one-touch stuff last Saturday -- yet the same players!

I think that is being harsh on the players tbh. Last week they put in a storming performance to win at Everton - a really tough place to go.

Yes they may have rode their luck at times, but we simply cannot expect teams not to have chances when we are away from home.

To say 8 of them need replacing is very harsh seeing what they did last week.

We are clearly weak in some areas, but lets give some of the players a bit more respect. On another day we would have won today with the chances we had.

Disagree. All about opnions as ever. Today could have turned out completely different if we'd scored first which we were unlucky not to. That would have changed the course of the game, just like it did at Everton after we scored. The difference between the teams were their two deflected goals which were heading wide, and us hitting the woodwork 3 times.
