Agree Dazzer but Derry is playing out of his skin and won't get any better, Faurlin will pass him by once he adapts. Ali has age on this side too.

The everton mom poll will show your thinking ref the everton game is in the minority.

Spurs fans I know can't stand him, though their expectations are currently higher than ours.

In answer to your question would you put Jenas above Barton & Faurlin? Maybe your thoughts are of playing Barton RM which then yes I would prefer Jenas over Derry longer term.

Certainly above Faurlin (by a distance) possibly better than Barton

All about opinions, and for what mines worth, yes Jenas currently better than Faurlin but i dont think he will be for long. Come January when Ali has settled he will be a better player, showed that in the Everton game. No way Jenas better than Barton IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I think Jenas has had a rough ride from Spurs fans over recent years. When i've seen him come on or play in big games, he's made a difference.

Let's not forget he's also played a fair few times for England and got picked for a reason....

I think he would be a fantastic signing and add invaluable experience, quality (the more the merrier) and options. Also let's not forget we need some depth... we are over the moon about Barton signing, but anyone could get a season ending injury at any time (please god no) so a good squad is paramount, and i think Jenas would be very cheap for a proven player of his class with very recent England caps, in the same way as SWP is available relatively cheap.

                  Not at all.

Ask Spurs fans how much they "rate" him. He had enourmous promise and still shows that sometimes, but half the games he doesn't show for and that is for a "big" club.

All about opinions Nodge. I just have a different one to you on this. Buzz, Derry, Faurlin...they all have a lot to offer.

And Jenus better than Barton - not in my book.

Derry is 33, done us proud, but has never played a full season in the top flight and he is obviously not a long-term option. Faurlin is young and is an unknow quantity having played two games at this level: in one he was woeful in the other very good.

To say we don't need Jenas is absurd as it seems likely we will also strengthen in other areas where there's the need. We need strength in all positions and Jenas has been playing at the very highest level for a decade and still in his twenties.

                      100% agree.

Also if we are going to have one area of the pitch with an embarrassment of riches (considering our recent promotion) i would want it to be midfield because that's where the majority of games are won or lost.
