                        Why do people think it can't be true becasue he's left the ground and not returned?

                        Obviously he would have taken a copy of the contact offered to him with him when he left. He could've discussed with his agent or family and signed the copy he has. That could've then been faxed back to us or collected by a soliciter or club rep or snything.

                        Why go back to the ground to do it which could be a media circus.

                        If true, i would imagine the club are thrashing out the essentials with Newcastle and the League.

                                                            Funky saying he has signed a 4-5 year contract 15 minutes ago? Is that 4 and a half years or 4 to 5 years, which if the latter makes no sense!? Either it's 4 or 5 years and surely if he has signed then the person passing it on would know if it's 4 or 5!?
